The Grove got what it wanted Saturday night. No. 8 Ole Miss beat No. 7 LSU 32–24 at Vaught-Hemingway, per LSUSports.net and the Rebel box. Trinidad Chambliss’s 14-yard keeper and a two-point conversion with 6:14 left finished a 13-play drive after purple had clawed all the way back to 24–24. Sam Leavitt’s late tipped pick on fourth-and-6 from the six ended it. Attendance: 70,033 — a Vaught record. Rebels are 3–0 and 1–0 in the SEC. Tigers are 2–1 and 0–1. Next purple date is Texas A&M at home Saturday, Sep 26. Argue Kiffin’s return all you want. The scoreboard already did.

Sunday’s remote flips to Texas. Early window is Cincinnati at Houston, 11 a.m. MT on CBS — Bengals 1–0 on the road into an 0–1 Texans club that needs a home answer in Week 2, per the NFL’s Week 2 slate. Later is Washington at Dallas, 2:25 p.m. MT on FOX — both clubs 0–1, AT&T Stadium, NFC East noise with September still young. Those are the two Texas windows this desk cares about today. Watch Houston try to get to .500. Watch Dallas try to avoid 0–2 with the Commanders in town.
